Hellbent Brewing

I’ve heard a lot of talk surrounding Hellbent Brewing on Lake City Way, and we finally were able to check it out! With this whole summer weather taking over Seattle we heard they have a pretty awesome patio AND dog friendly (because no way would we be leaving Chloe all by her lonesome). First of all, driving past it I would have no idea how cool the space actually is. The patio has a few picnic tables and a pretty rad couch; oh, and they have food trucks too. So don’t worry about those drunchies, the food trucks rotate throughout the week as well. The inside tables are surrounded with big comfy leather couches and this killer chandelier of bottles and baby growlers. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been to a brewery that actually has guest taps, but Hellbent has a pretty impressive rotating tap list that feature brews from breweries like Reuben’s Brews, Peddler and more!

Being at this brewery and all, I felt like a little flight would be the only way to go. Offering four pours for eight bucks had me excited that I could branch out and taste all of the things I could get my paws on. I chose the jasmine wheat, moon tower stout, oatmeal pale ale and the cut IPA. I’m not one for a wheat beer usually, but I’ll tell yah the Jasmine Wheat had a fantastic taste! I could definitely pick up on a bit of jasmine, but I was almost hoping for a bit more! But I’d definitely take a pint of that. The stout was pretty taste, and just the right amounts of heavy and tasty malt with a bit of coffee as well. I think the beer that took the cake really was the Oatmeal Pale Ale though; this had to be the hoppiest beer they have on tap (from the five I tasted and talking to the beer wizards themselves) but not overly bitter; mouthfeel is very even and tasty complimented by the jolt of hops. I think I’ve said before that I’m not big on IPAs right now but hey, it’s summer so let’s switch away from the dark beers? JK- You can’t stop me. BUT these two IPAs from Hellbent really are amazing! I like The Cut IPA the most, it was a little more floral and fruity aroma and taste as well. This brew starts with some piney hop varieties then dry hopped to get that citrus and mango aroma- holy yum.

I’ve only been there once, but I’ve already started to brag to everyone to check it out! And especially with this amazing weather, it’s perfect for their outdoor area, your pup and grabbing some snacks along with your brews! Also, if you’ve heard about Beer + Yoga, they have an event at Hellbent this weekend, so go get some tickets! PLUS they do Geeks Who Drink, there really isn’t any reason to not check out this place every day of the week.. just sayin’.

Cheers Xx
